The Vision
Meet your hosts
I picked up my first wedding camera back in 2008—and it was love at first click. But after years of shooting, I felt the pull to build something bigger. That led me to create Mint Wedding Magazine—a space dedicated to celebrating and connecting Canadian wedding professionals in a real, meaningful way.
Mint started as a way to spotlight the amazing work happening in our own communities across Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta. Today, it’s grown into something more: a hub of connection, inspiration, and creative collaboration for wedding vendors and photographers alike.
At my core, I care deeply about the people behind the work. I believe in creating spaces where photographers can feel seen, supported, and reconnected to the why behind what they do. Workshops like this one are where that magic really happens.
Jamie Willey
Hey, I’m Leah! I’m a lifestyle and wedding photographer based in Red Deer, Alberta, and I’ve been living this creative dream full-time for almost six years now. I never boxed myself into one niche—I just follow the work that lights me up and brings joy into my life.
When I’m not behind the lens, I’m chasing after my two amazing kids, Sophie (6) and Jace (3), who make life a beautiful, noisy adventure. Photography has given me the gift of presence. I get to show up for my family and build a career that supports the life I want.
I’m passionate about creating from a place of joy, avoiding burnout, and helping other photographers do the same. I believe that when your work and personal life feel aligned, everything clicks—and you can show up more fully, creatively, and confidently.
