Quincy and Samantha first crossed paths on a lively Thirsty Thursday at the St. Norbert Hotel. Introduced through mutual friends, neither of them knew that night would be the start of something extraordinary. The connection was instant, though it took a little back-and-forth before they officially started dating. But once they did, everything fell into place.
What brought them even closer was their shared love for the outdoors. Whether it was fishing, hunting, or chasing their next adventure, they were always happiest together in nature. One place, in particular, became their special retreat—fishing in the Whiteshell, a tradition they continued year after year.
It was in this setting, surrounded by the beauty of Ontario, that Quincy planned the perfect proposal. On a secluded, snowmobile-only lake in Minaki, the two spent the day ice fishing as the winter sun dipped below the horizon. In that quiet, breathtaking moment, with the frozen landscape stretching around them, Quincy asked her to marry him. It was simple, intimate, and a reflection of everything they loved most.
Their wedding was just as meaningful—a beautiful celebration held at her family’s acreage just outside of LaSalle, Manitoba, surrounded by loved ones and memories of home. Today, they reside in Pilot Mound, where Quincy farms, continuing the adventure that began on that unexpected night at St. Norbert.
