An Estate with a History of Love
The Cornerstone is a 5-acre family-owned property just 20 minutes outside of Edmonton’s bustling city center. With its winding tree-lined driveway, sprawling gardens, neatly manicured lawns, surrounding golden canola fields and stunningly elegant home, you’ll feel like you stepped straight into a storybook.
The origin of The Cornerstone isn’t too far from a storybook tale itself. The property was built as a dream home by the parents of the now owner Christina Zadravec after many years of struggle and determination. They arrived in Alberta after escaping from the political upheaval of their home in Yugoslavia as young newlyweds and never looked back.
It was here they built a life, raised a family, and started a tradition of love that still emanates through the estate today.
Christina hadn’t planned on making her childhood home a wedding venue, but when couples came knocking on her door during the peak of the pandemic requesting to get married on the stately grounds, she eagerly answered the call.
What Makes Cornerstone so Special
After taking in the beauty of this venue, you’ll quickly notice its specialness doesn’t end there. The real reason it had such success in just a few short years as a wedding venue is because of its practicality and adaptability.
The estate boasts a main home with picturesque parlors, lovely lounges, a commercial sized kitchen, and all the amenities you could ask for. Outside you’ll find a classic Albertan barn big enough for 150 guests, a stunning gazebo perfect for outdoor ceremonies, and access to plenty of customizable seating and tent options provided right on site.
